Sargent Elementary School was designated a School in Need of Improvement (SINI) by the NYS State Education Department.  Our Students with Disabilities did not make Annual Yearly Progress in ELA this past year, based on the state testing in January 2009.  We are in the process of identifying the specific areas that will be focused areas for developing and implementing instructional strategies that will support our students in maximizing their potential.

WITH THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR FAST APPROACHING, PLEASE REMEMBER THAT OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IS OUR STUDENTS’ SAFETY!  ALL DRIVERS SHOULD ABIDE TO TRAFFIC LAWS.  ALL VEHICLES MUST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT THE STOP SIGN BY THE BOARD OFFICE UPON ENTERING SARGENT SCHOOL’S PARKING LOT.   PLEASE USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN OUT OF HARM’S WAY.  FOR THOSE ON FOOT, PLEASE REMEMBER TO STAY AWARE OF THE TRAFFIC.  THANK YOU!
