QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
The Beacon City School District seeks the best possible people to be employees in our schools. Whether you have chosen to work directly in our classrooms or you are interested in support staff employment, the Beacon City School District strives to hire high quality individuals to work with our children. They deserve nothing less.
The Beacon Board of Education requires all potential employees to submit a birth certificate or proof of citizenship/work eligibility before they can begin employment. Acceptable evidence could include military records, a passport, naturalization papers, church records or baptismal certificate. Applications for all positions must be made in writing and submitted with a resume, transcripts and appropriate credentials.
As required under New York State law, and prior to employment, all personnel working in the Beacon City School District must provide fingerprints for a criminal background check. New employees must furnish proof that they have been properly immunized and are free from infectious tuberculosis. Acceptable proofs are records signed by a licensed physician or a statement from the Dutchess County Health Department.
